About Mark Harris
Mark is an internationally certified coach and nationally qualified to level two.

Mark can help you with the following areas :-
Strength and Power
Speed and Agility
Fitness and Endurance
Mark was an experienced middle distance runner who represented New Zealand at the World Student Games twice before ill health cut short his running career.
Mark's career has seen him employed as High Performance Manager for New Zealand Squash and Cycling New Zealand, he attained significant skills and knowledge from these employment roles. He has also lectured at UCOL on their sports course (sports practical) and nursing courses (human biology).
Mark has also attained an IAAF International Coaching Qualification for Sprints and Hurdles. As such he uses this knowledge, plus knowledge gained from his running experiences to help and support athletes who want to succeed at running and other sports.
Philosopy
I have looked at what my role is and how I will interact and provide service to those that want it and the following is my key points:-
1. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every human being
2. Ensure the athlete's time spent with me is a positive experience
3. Treat each athlete as an individual
4. Be fair, considerate and honest with athletes
5. Be professional and accept responsibility for your actions
6. Make a commitment to providing a quality service to my athletes
7. Operate within the rules and spirit of our sport
8. Any physical contact with athletes should be:
• appropriate to the situation
• necessary for the athlete's skill development
9. Refrain from any form of personal abuse towards my athletes
10. Refrain from any form of harassment towards my athletes
11. Provide a safe environment for training and competition
12. Show concern and caution toward sick and injured athletes
13. Be a positive role model for our sport and athletes

Bachelor of Business Studies - Finance
Post Graduate Diploma - Sports Management
Mark has attained the following coaching qualifications
IAAF Level 3 Sprints and Hurdles
ATH NZ Level 2 Endurance
ATH NZ Level 1 Sprints, Endurance, High Jump and Throws
